Manchester Disc Golf, thanks to our funders Veolia Environmental Trust and Thrive Trafford , and working with Trafford Council, The Friends of Longford Park and DUFFA, have installed a new FREE-TO-PLAY 18-hole disc golf course in Longford Park, Stretford, Greater Manchester.
The course is already OPEN and FREE to use for everyone but if you want to play the course outside of open days / club meets you'll need to bring your own discs.
Please note: the hole signs have not yet been installed (so you'll need the links below to help find the holes), the tee pads have now also been numbered to help.
The course is still awaiting signage (please use the links above to view the map and course signs) and the ground can be MUDDY where the construction has taken place. As of 20th May the course had mostly dried out and the ground was recovering but if you're planning to play and there has recently been a lot of rain we'd recommend boots / wellies. Please give way to other park users when playing.
Hire Discs are NOT yet available, we'll be announcing details of the hire scheme in June 2016 so please bring your own discs or alternatively come to one of our open days or club meet times to borrow some discs for free.
A big THANK YOU to all of our volunteers who helped!
If you would like to play, and don't have your own discs, come and join us at our family friendly Open Days on the first Saturday of every month from 11am to 5pm.
On these days we provide discs, scorecards and teach you the basics of how to play the game - it's FREE and you don't need any equipment or experience (though if it has been raining we advise wearing wellies or boots!)
Our friendly club meets twice a week to play a couple of social rounds. At these times we can provide you with free loan discs so you can try out disc golf too!
We'll be announcing details of our special school and club open days soon. If you're a school, youth club or adult club and would like a FREE introductory session please email us!
